This directory contains symbols to be used within GRASS GIS.

The symbols are homemade and are published as free software under the GPL >= V2.0 by Peter
Loewe (peter.loewe_AT_gmx.de).
Feedback about successfull use of the symbols in your projects would be
appreciated. 

How to use: 
Copy the symbols you want to use to the directory etc/symbols
of your version of GRASS GIS if they are to be available in all your GRASS
projects. 
Within a GRASS session you can easily locate the proper path by entering
echo $GISBASE
just add /etc/symbols to the path:

/usr/local/grass-6.3cvs/etc/symbols
</example>

Feel free to create new directories underneath 'symbols' to keep all the
symbols sorted.

If the symbols are only needed within a certain mapset, put them into
$MAPSET/symbol/group
